Emtec Consulting Engineers provided professional engineering services for Verizon in Brooklyn. The scope of this project included the design documents for a new fire alarm design for an existing high-rise office building consisting of 170,000 sf with 7 floors and a basement. The project also included full fire alarm and automatic detection throughout the entire building in accordance with NFPA 72 and NFPA 76. Emtec designed a new VEWFD system in the DC Power Rooms, serving critical digital switching equipment, the DMS-100 Digital Switchroom and the Digital Cross Connect Switch (DCS) Switchrooms as required.
